1. Clean Table Linens

No holiday party is complete without a delicious meal, so you’ll want to make sure all the table linens have been properly cleaned beforehand. All seasonal tablecloths and cloth napkins need to be washed with cold-to-warm water and tumble dried in low-to-medium heat.

Keep tablecloths slightly damp before ironing, which will help you remove creases. You can also use starch while ironing the napkins to make folding them into fancy shapes easier.

2. Prepare the Towels

Towels hold germs, so by washing the ones your guests are going to use, you are helping protect their health. You’ll also help them feel like they’re in a relaxing hotel.

Wash white towels in hot water to remove stains. You can use a heavy-duty detergent and one cup of distilled white vinegar to remove any unpleasant odors.

3. Freshen Up Bedding Materials

Over time, bedding supplies become contaminated with dust mites, dandruff, and pet hairs, which can aggravate allergy symptoms.

When washing the sheets and pillowcases, don’t overstuff the washing machine, as this lessens the effectiveness of the cleaning. Choose a bigger washing machine at the laundromat.

Down comforters require special laundry care. To prevent shrinkage and damage to the feathers, you may need to have them dry cleaned.
