Washing machines clean hundreds of laundry loads every year. And while any quality appliance is designed to last, the near-constant wear and tear eventually causes machinery problems. Here are some signs it’s time to schedule washer repair services to keep your appliance working.

Reasons a Washer Repair Is Needed

1. No Agitation

The agitating component within your washing machine plays a significant role in cleaning clothes. If it fails to perform, the motor overload protector could be resetting and will start the appliance in a few minutes. Should the agitator still not work, there could be a broken belt or other internal issues such as faulty electrical power.

2. Loud Noises

3. Leaks

Serious leaks may mean you used too much detergent, there’s a loose water hose in the back of the appliance or a degrading pump seal. The pump removes water from the machine and sends it to the drain. Other damaged seals, such as those on the outer tub, can also cause leaks.

4. Wet Clothes

Clothes should leave the washer damp, not soaking. If your spin cycle isn’t functioning, there’s likely a motor coupler problem. A damaged belt or clutch could also be the issue depending on the appliance brand.
