Sudden muscle spasms may occur in your legs and feet because of differences in your body’s processing of calcium. This symptom is especially common at night. If you’re experiencing muscle spasms, try eating calcium-rich foods like yogurt or milk, and gently stretch before bed.

5. Slowed Digestion

Eating a nutritious diet rich in lean protein, whole grains, and fruits and vegetables is essential to pregnancy health. Yet, even with sound nutrition, hormonal changes during pregnancy slow the digestive system and may cause constipation. Pressure from your expanding uterus can also lead to hard stools and fewer bowel movements. Drink at least eight glasses of water a day, and try mild exercise to alleviate discomfort.
