1)  An Annually Updated Substance Abuse Policy

Drug policy is an ever changing target in America. However, employers largely agree that a drug free workplace policy is essential for a strong professional work environment and business foundation. Most businesses stop here though instead of incorporating steps 2-5 which include supervisor training, employee education, employee assistance and drug testing.​​​​​​

 

2) Regular Supervisor Training

Once a drug policy is set in place in written format for employees, your organization should train management individuals to understand the role of a supervisor. Providing basic information about your drug free workplace policy or program and clarify each supervisor’s role in its implementation.
