LaRowe Gerlach Taggart LLP is happy to announce the 20th Anniversary of Paralegal, Cheryl Schmidt.

Cheryl worked at Cardinal Glass for 17 years before she began her career at LGT 20 years ago. She saw an article on paralegal careers and was interested in the “searching” and “investigating” aspects of the job. She became certified as a paralegal and began an internship at LaRowe Gerlach Taggart. At the time she completed the internship the firm had no job openings, but Schmidt was glad to have had the experience.

When it came time to look for a permanent paralegal position, Cheryl applied over a wide area as she is within 40 miles of four different county seats. When LaRowe Gerlach Taggart called her to interview for a position, a number of her friends were concerned about the distance, however,  Reedsburg and Madison would have been the same commute for her – around 36 miles. Cheryl mentioned she’s happy she ended up heading west in the mornings (away from the sunrise) to get to work, and east in the afternoons (away from the sunset.)

She is planning on many more years with LaRowe Gerlach Taggart, which her co-workers, attorneys and clients are happy to hear. She is an integral part of keeping the firm running smoothly, the clients handled professionally, and is a friendly, caring co-worker.

Cheryl and her husband, Mike, are residents of Arena. They have been married for 33 years and have three grown children together. Cheryl is interested in genealogy, which has many aspects that tie in well with her paralegal position. She is also an avid volunteer, spending her free time volunteering for her church, scouts, municipal board, PTO and Arena Historians, among others. Her husband jokes if she were to get paid for volunteering, she would be a millionaire. Cheryl is excited to be expecting her first grandchild in March and is waiting patiently for the new arrival!
