If your child goes to an early education center, you may want to send your little one with holiday goodie bags to celebrate the season with their peers. However, you should avoid giving the class traditional cookies and candies as some kids may not know what they’re allergic to. Fortunately, there are several ways you can provide the class with a fun, festive treat while erring on the safe side.

What Holiday Goodies Should I Give My Child’s Class?

1. Craft Supplies

To encourage kids to use their creativity during the holiday break, fill goodie bags with supplies for a fun arts and crafts project with their parents. In each bag, pack a basic white T-shirt and a few nontoxic fabric markers. Include a holiday-themed picture in each goodie bag, such as an image of a turkey or decorated tree, for kids to recreate on their shirt. Since many kids help with holiday baking, you can also swap the shirts for aprons.

2. Activity Books

Encourage kids to flex their mental muscles by giving them a goodie bag of kid-friendly puzzles. From matching games to puzzles that test memory, there are a variety of activity books with holiday themes you can find. Add crayons to the goodie bag so that they can complete their activity book in color.

3. Toys

There are many holiday cartoons and films popular among young children. Find out if the early education center will show any movies during class, and if they are, ask for the name of the film. Once you know the title, start looking for plush toys and other affordable merchandise that features the characters. To keep kids away from choking hazards, avoid giving small trinkets or toys with loose bobbles.
