Calling all classic car fanatics! For those interested in vintage cars, September marks the opening of the Charlotte AutoFairProduced by Hornets Nest Region, AACA! Held September 24 through 27, this event offers plenty of eye candy for auto enthusiasts. Almost every type of vehicle you can imagine will be on display, and over 10,000 visitors are expected at this annual car show.

One of the featured classic cars this month is the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. This first generation Camaro is considered, by many, to be the best looking Camaro; the design of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was inspired by this historical vehicle.

The improvements to the Camaro’s design made this car stand out. New sheet metal was added to give it a more angled appearance. The wheel wells were squared and new front and rear ends were put on; this created the longer and lower look that the car is known for.

There isn’t just one type of Camaro. Chevrolet made several configurations available to its customers, including the Sport Coupe, Super Sport, and Z/28. The Sport Coupe was made longer and wider and included bucket seats, carpet, and an updated ventilation system. The Super Sport had a three-speed transmission, sport striping, and a heavy insulated hood. The Z/28 featured dual exhausts, suspension, heavy-duty radiator, and sensitive steering that appealed to all road-racing fans.

Don’t miss your chance to see this classic car! There are still spaces available to rent at the Charlotte AutoFair. With a wide variety of antique cars, collector cars and more, this is one vintage auto show you need to attend. Call (704) 841-1990 or visit their website for more information.
