As a Christian, it’s your calling to follow God’s word. Part of this belief system includes showing gratitude and helping your community. Here are a few tips for showing thanks while honoring your spirituality.

4 Ways to Show Gratitude as a Christian

1. Volunteer

Many Christians volunteer to deepen their relationship with the Lord. Helping others can renew your faith in humanity as you help those in need. Walk dogs at a local shelter or spend weekends at a soup kitchen, creating and serving meals for individuals who need a hot dinner.

2. Donate

ChristianWhether it’s your time or belongings, everyone has something to donate. Offer your skills to teach local youth or share your time by helping others. If you can, follow tithing by donating up to 10% of your paycheck to those in need. You can also give items, like gently used clothing, appliances, and books, to charities for people who will use them.

3. Honor Past Generations

Visit the cemetery to clean and care for family members’ graves to honor their life. Dust off headstones and memorials, and leave fresh flowers to show your thanks for everything they’ve done for you. You can also sit by their marker and read scripture or sing hymns to let them know you’re still thinking of them.

4. Pray

As a Christian, you should take a few moments every day to give thanks to God. Name specific things you’re grateful for, from a delicious meal to the company of friends. This ritual can be a family-friendly activity for people of all ages and helps you personally connect with the Lord.
