Add pads to furniture.

Use area rugs.

Place rugs in high-traffic areas, including entrances and hallways. They will protect the hardwood from scratches from people’s shoes. 

Vacuum weekly.

Dirt and other debris dragged in from outdoors can leave behind stains. That’s why it’s necessary to vacuum at least once a week. Alternatively, you can sweep the flooring.

Leave the curtains open.

When you have hardwood floors in your office, it’s important to keep your curtains and other window treatments closed as often as possible. This is because UV rays may cause fading and discoloration over time. Close all shades on weekends, or whenever the office isn’t in use.

Wait too long to clean a spill.

Add wax to your floors.
