When I started RBM Wellness, my sole purpose was to provide dynamic, affordable wellness programs that even the smallest of facilities/budgets could afford.  For years, I designed and implemented wellness and restorative programs at IL, AL, and SNFs – and after thorough research and a change in creative processes, created the Rebuild Me Programs.  The science is built into the design, the execution is simple; even with staff turnover.  But, as they say, the proof is in the pudding.  The response from residents are what matters, and what keeps me going…

A SNF resident said, “I feel like I’m still in therapy, we do many of the same exercises.”

A man in IL stated, “I had a stroke, took a bad fall, and had a lot of hip damage.  I can tell a difference in balance, strength and limberness, more flexible.  If it helps everyone like it has helped me, I can see no downside to it."

And one of my favorite ALF resident statements, “My back used to hurt, and now it doesn’t.”

This is what keeps me going through the tough times of starting a business with an idea different than the norm, of challenging myself every day – it’s the response of residents who reap the benefit.  Much like the resident who unknowingly named our programs when she said, “I just feel like your (wellness) program is rebuilding me”, I can honestly say that being an entrepreneur is doing the same – it’s rebuilding me.  I’m learning to keep going, even thru the struggles, to learn from my mistakes and stay focus in a forward motion.  It is not easy, but if I can help just one more senior, it’s worth it.
