As a driver, you know an auto collision is always a possibility. However, there are certain times of the year that are more dangerous than others. These are the times of the year when people are most likely to get into an auto collision.

Times When Auto Collision Rates Are High

1. Black Friday

Many people either have or take Black Friday off to spend time with their families. However, there are a lot of people who are on the road, traveling from their Thanksgiving plans. Add in the number of people who go out late to take advantage of Black Friday sales, and it’s easy to see why the likelihood of an auto collision on this day tends to be higher than most. The more congestion on the roads, the more common it is for something to go wrong, so if possible try to avoid hours on Black Friday where traffic is going to be the heaviest.

2. Daylight Saving Time

3. New Year’s Day

Although many would assume that more auto collisions happen on New Year’s Eve rather than New Year’s Day, it’s the opposite. A lot of people attend NYE’s parties but don’t leave until after midnight or early morning when they’re still intoxicated.
