2. Lubricate

Lubricate the doors before the weather turns cold to ensure they operate smoothly through the winter. You can tell your garage door needs to be lubricated by listening and observing it as it opens and closes. If it shakes or wobbles, it’s a clear sign it needs to be oiled. Apply a lubricant such as white lithium grease or silicone spray to the rollers, tracks, latches, and hinges. Be sure to also lubricate the pulleys, torsion springs, and bearings. 

3. Check & Replace Batteries

Fall is a good time to test the batteries in your garage door opener to avoid lockouts in the bitter winter months. Use the opener to open and close the garage door.
