If you’re thinking about getting braces or aligners but the total treatment time is stopping you, AcceleDent® Optima™ could be the answer. This innovative orthodontic supplement uses SoftPulse Technology® to facilitate teeth movement in just 20 minutes a day. Want to learn how it works? Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions on the process.

AcceleDent FAQ

How does AcceleDent Optima work?

The AcceleDent Optima mouthpiece works alongside traditional braces and aligners. Just slip it over your existing orthodontic appliance and turn on the Activator, then remove it after 20 minutes. The device accelerates treatment by using gentle cyclic forces to nudge the teeth into place even faster than the constant, static pressure applied by braces alone.

Does the mouthpiece hurt?

When activated, the AcceleDent mouthpiece exerts less force than an electric toothbrush. Its micropulses were designed with comfort in mind, even after 20 consecutive minutes of use. The actual procedure doesn’t hurt; however, you may notice some mild discomfort as your teeth start shifting into their proper alignment faster.

Is AcceleDent safe?

bracesThe AcceleDent mouthpiece is a class II medical device that has been cleared for use by the FDA. Because it’s nonsurgical and noninvasive, it has few potential complications, and clinical trials didn’t reveal any damage to the teeth.

Who is a good candidate for AcceleDent?

AcceleDent can fit comfortably over virtually any orthodontic appliance, including brackets, wires, and aligners. The best candidates for this innovative treatment are those who want to shorten their treatment time and are willing to put in the 20 minutes a day to do so.
