If you’re an event planner or training coordinator for your organization, you’re tasked with creating sessions that both engage your attendees and teach them the assigned curriculum effectively. It can be challenging to keep everyone attentive and involved, so use the tips below to hold an engaging training meeting.

3 Tips to Run an Effective Corporate Training Session

1. Play Games

Split your group into teams and play interactive games. The use of riddles, puzzles, and quizzes, especially in an arena of friendly competition, will help your trainees focus, learn the necessary information, and remember it after the meeting ends. If possible, include physical movement as part of your game to get people’s blood pumping.

2. Use Videos

Event planner in Honolulu, HIEveryone remembers sitting in a classroom and listening to a teacher drone on for what seemed like hours. Unless the presenter is a world-class public speaking talent, you could lose your trainees' attention after the first half hour.

Break up the monotony with a training video. The use of music, visuals, and story will keep your team interested and make it easier to get your point across.

3. Encourage Interaction

Lectures can lose your audience’s attention, so make presentations interactive. Query your guests to get responses; for example, "Who here has experienced something like that? Let's see a show of hands."

Interact directly with trainees as well. "Which of these produced the better result? Bill! What do you think?" Choosing at random from the crowd will keep people on their toes.
