Car shows are a perfect opportunity for like-minded enthusiasts to meet up and exchange ideas, while still providing fun and excitement for the rest of the family. While the circuit will still be competitive, by following a few tips, you can have your vehicle looking just the part for attendance. Here’s what you need to know.

3 Ways to Prepare for a Car Show

1. Interior Detail

The interior of an antique car should be clean. While it may be tempting to take your vehicle to the wash for a quick vacuum and interior wipe down, consider taking it to a professional for detailing. The windows should be clear, and the interior should be free of smudged fingerprints, dust, and lint fibers.

2. Exterior Clean & Shine

Then, use a clay bar to remove contaminants that are damaging and dulling the gloss of the paint. Pay extra attention to the wheels and tires, removing all brake dust and road grime and polishing these exteriors.

3. Presentation

Now that your car is looking clean and crisp, it’s time to park it for the attendees and judges to see. If you have any custom engine modifications, pop the hood so that attendees can be drawn in. If you have custom wheels, turn the vehicle so that it faces attendees as they’re walking toward it. You can also roll down the windows if your vehicle has interior modifications.
