Fall has arrived, which means that it’s time for football fans to get excited. Whether you plan to watch the games at home or go out with friends, delicious food is essential to getting the most out of football season. Grins Restaurant in San Marcos, TX, has been a staple in the Texas State University community for 40 years. Dine in at the restaurant or get party food to go.

About Grins

Grins Restaurant first opened in February of 1975. It is currently owned and operated by Paul Sutphen and Johnny Ferrell, two Texas State graduates. Paul was the first cook to work at the restaurant, while Johnny also worked in the kitchen during college. They are open for lunch and dinner with fantastic home cooking and happy hour specials. Diners enjoy their friendly service and charming atmosphere, both indoors and out on the patio.

How to Prep for Game Day

restaurantGrins can help you enjoy football season to the fullest—whether you’re into college football, NFL, or both. They are open before and after Texas State football games since they’re only a short-five minute drive from the Bobcat stadium.

If you’re hosting a party at home for Thursday or Sunday Night Football, they have to-go options available for your guests. They can handle orders of all sizes, so there’s no need to spend time cooking or dealing with dishes—but can jump right into a celebrating mood. Some of the favorites that locals order for their football parties include their potato skins, Texas-sized onion rings, and their Triple Dipper (homemade guacamole, salsa, and queso).

Grins makes football season tasty and easy for fans. Take a look at their menu online. College students can also check for specials on the Hooked app. Call (512) 392-4746 to place your to-go order or request a reservation for your pre-game or post-game fun.
