Parkinson’s disease is a progressive illness that causes a gradual worsening of movement and mobility. Because the effects of the disease are so profound, doctors and researchers work diligently to understand it with the goal of one day finding a cure. Connecticut Advocates for Parkinson's (CAP) shares this vision. This is why they’re devoted to providing resources to people with Parkinson’s, including information on clinical drug trials.

What Is CAP?

CAP is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity. Their goal is to support people afflicted with Parkinson’s disease and their families. CAP exhibits this support in a number of ways, from educating people on the symptoms and progression of Parkinson’s to performing outreach to people struggling with the illness. As a charity organization, CAP relies heavily on the support of its members and volunteers.

What Kinds of Programs Are Offered?

Parkinson's diseaseCAP is involved with a number of community groups. These groups allow people with Parkinson’s to confer with other patients, as well as learn information on different treatments and therapies. They also encourage donations, which are used to fund education programs, outreach initiatives, research, and transportation for patients to clinical trials.
