Fall is just around the corner, kids are getting ready to head back to school or they may have already started. Now is a good time to ensure that your commercial HVAC unit is prepared to handle the strain. So how do you do that you may ask? Here are a few good tips from us at Coulee Property Solutions that will ensure you’re prepared when the leaves start to change color and the temperatures drop.

FRESH FILTERS

Fall is a great time of year to change out your furnace, air conditioner and humidifier filters. With the coming colder air and closed doors, the indoor air quality becomes more important.

DUCT INSPECTIONS AND CLEANING

Did you know that not only your filters and furnaces need inspections, so does your duct work! By having them clean and maintained will provide the most optimal air quality for your home or business.

FURNACE CHECKUP

By having your furnaces checked regularly will keep it running efficiently and will help you save money on your electric bills.  This will also help prevent the heat going out when its cold out and you need it the most.

FUEL LEVEL ON E?

Does your heating system run on oil or propane? Now is the time to make sure your tank is full before the cold temperatures hit us. Make sure to also set up regular deliveries to ensure you don’t run out during the cold months.

BOILER

If you have a steam boiler, make sure to check the water level. The waters can get low and could cause the unit to potentially burn out when its running at max performance.  If this were to happen this would turn into a replacement or fix that could be costly. In order to check your water level, make sure your system is off and cool. There will be a sight glass on the side of your unit. The water inside should come up to the mark on the glass.  Another option you can do is have an automatic water feeder added. This will refill your boiler tank as needed.

SEAL LEAKS

Have a draft? Over time those seals, caulking and weather stripping can dry out and crack which will cause cold or hot air to leak in to your home. Make sure that all your doors and windows are properly sealed.
