Being a Christian means you’re understanding, patient, thoughtful, and gracious. Although you can convey these qualities however you want, performing random acts of kindness is one way that will also brighten the day of you and another person. If you aren’t sure where to start, here are a few suggestions on how you can spread kindness to your neighbors.

How to Spread God’s Love Through Kindness

1. Put Money in Someone’s Parking Meter

Getting a parking ticket can damper someone’s day, especially if they’re tight on money. If you’re walking down the street and see an expired meter, fill it. Put a sticky note on the machine, and ask the driver to pay it forward by doing the same for someone else.

2. Cook a Support Meal

christianMaking someone a home-cooked meal shows effort and thought, and many people associate it with family, love, and someone caring for them. Whether it’s a young couple that recently had a baby or an elderly neighbor experiencing a cold, cook a meal for them to show your compassion for their situation. Opt for a dish, like a lasagna, that can be frozen after delivery so that they can enjoy the food longer. Additionally, send the dish in a disposable pan so that they don’t have to worry about returning it to you, and leave a note that details how to reheat it.

3. Pray for Someone

When someone is in a foul mood or treats you poorly, it can be easy to forget to be charitable towards them. Typically, people lash out or exhibit selfishness because they’re preoccupied, angry, or depressed. Take a moment to practice the Christian teaching of grace by thinking of someone who may be hurting, and ask God to send them comfort.
