When antique cars are properly restored, their value will skyrocket. Approaching the car with the appropriate care will boost its value to make your investment more authentic and financially rewarding. Here are a few tips to follow to increase its value.

How to Boost Your Antique Car’s Value

1. Restore the Interior

The interior may be the most apparent sign of aging in antique cars. If your seats have rips or are faded, replace them with new old stock (NOS) seat covers that are appropriate for the vehicle’s period. The same applies for the carpet in the flooring; try having it detailed or replaced.

2. Match Parts

Avoid the temptation to customize the vehicle with modern touches. Instead, replace all of the damaged parts with a piece from the right make and model. Find the original owner’s manual and add small touches, such as the original engine stickers.

3. Replace Rubber

Faded or cracked rubber is unattractive. Check the window gaskets and felts, hood bumpers, door rubbers, and other weatherstripping. Faded rubber can be restored with tire black, while cracked rubber will need to be replaced.

4. Get New Tires

Tires are an essential aesthetic touch, and if people are driving the vehicle, they want to know it’s safe. Replace worn or aged tires with NOS ones that are as close to the original as possible. Don’t choose flashy ones that don’t match; your style may not match the buyer’s style, so sticking as close to the original as possible will boost value.
