When working on your golf technique, your arm strength makes a difference in how much power you can put into each swing. To make the most of your tee time and maybe even score a personal record, try the following arm exercises leading up to your trip.

3 Exercises That Will Improve Your Golf Game

1. Lateral Raises

Lateral raises target the lateral deltoids, which are located behind the shoulders. Working out these muscles will give your swing more force. To perform lateral raises, grip a dumbbell in each hand with arms hanging down and palms facing inward. Then raise your arms until they’re parallel to the floor. Lower them back down to your sides to complete the rep. Do three sets of 10 reps during each lifting session.

2. Bicep Curls

Bend at the elbows to raise the dumbbells to your shoulders. Release slowly until they're back at the starting position, and perform 12 reps per set.

3. Grip Strengthener

Working the muscles in your hands will strengthen your grip, which can improve precision by ensuring a steady hold on the club through the swing. If you don’t have a  grip trainer, simply squeeze a tennis or stress ball over and over while alternating hands every few minutes.

When you’re ready to see how these exercises have helped, schedule a tee time at Waikoloa Village Golf Club. The Big Island golf course has an elevation of roughly 1,000 feet, providing a breathtaking backdrop of the Kohala coastline at every hole. Open 365 days a year, this course is beloved by Hawaii locals and tourists alike. To reserve your tee time, call (808) 883-9621 or visit their website.
