  1. There is FREE outdoor entertainment in Levee Park along the Mississippi River. Bring the whole family to a variety of events at the Rotary Pavilion in Levee Park including live animals of the St. Croix, outdoor movies, live music and more. The City of Hastings Parks & Rec department plans high quality family entertainment at the pavilion in Levee Park all summer long.   1. Bike the scenic circuit – a 10 mile loop around the city. By parking under the Hwy 61 bridge on 2nd Street, it’s easy to hop on the trail running along the Mississippi River. Head east past downtown and into CP Adams Park. Trail highlights include the Vermillion Falls, a scenic overlook of the Mississippi River and Lake Rebecca, the Lock & Dam #2 and a perfect ending spot in Hastings historic downtown.

  1. Saturday Night Cruise-Ins on 2nd Street. Every other Saturday throughout the summer, Hastings historic downtown fills will classic cars, live music and food trucks.  The events run 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and are FREE to the public. 

  1. Explore the trails of Carpenter Nature Center. Open daily from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Carpenter Nature Center offers 7 beautiful trails to explore on their MN campus.  Points of interest include the St. Croix River overlook, the education dock and the ravine lookout. Be sure to stop back in September and October to buy delicious apples from the Apple Shack!
