Blood Supply Crisis Continues │ Donations Needed July 30, 2019

Blood Supply Crisis Continues │ Donations Needed, Gatesville, Texas

The blood supply in our community is in crisis. Blood donations from donors are not keeping up with the transfusion needs of Central Texas hospital patients. Our community is not alone. There are shortages nationally too.
Blood supply availability affects the number of surgeries that hospitals can perform. It also negatively affects victims of emergencies including shootings, car accidents, and complications from birth.
We are asking for your help.
If you are eligible, please give blood today or tomorrow at a donor center or blood drive:
•    Walk-ins are highly encouraged in the next three days. Find a donor center or public drive near you.
•    Click on this link to log into your donor portal and make your appointment: https://ww2.greatpartners.org/donor/appointment/schedule/e10360c9443b9a3a27de85bba26e9a4b
•    Call or text 800-366-2834 to find where you can give now.
If you are not eligible to give, please spread the word:
•    Tell your friends and family to visit a donor center and give blood today
•    Share our social media information: @CarterBloodCare
•    Host your own blood drive at a donor center. Check your local donor center’s availability and call 877-412-5830 to book your drive appointments.

Together with your help, we hope to boost the blood supply to acceptable levels to meet patient needs at Central Texas community hospitals this week.
