Most people can do a reasonably good job of folding and organizing clothes and linen. However, some laundry items simply seem impossible to fold tidily, such as a fitted sheet. Unlike regular bed linen, fitted sheets are challenging to store neatly because of its scrunched up corners. Here are five easy steps you can follow to fold elasticized bed linen for proper storage.

5 Steps to Fold a Fitted Sheet After Laundry

1. Drape Fitted Sheet Over Hands

After laundry, hold up the sheet lengthwise and locate its corners. Drape the top two edges unto your hands, placing each side inside the left and right corners.

2. Fold in Half

laundryFold the sheet in half by bringing your right hand to your left, grabbing the corner, and flipping the right corner of the sheet over the left. Repeat this step for the bottom two corners of the sheet.

3. Fold in Quarters

Once the sheet is folded in half, fold it once more to create a smaller rectangle. Make sure that there are minimal creases to the linen as you do this.

4. Tuck all corners into One Another

Adjust all the corners, making sure that each one is tucked correctly and aligned with one another. Make sure that the corners of the sheet form an L-shape at the top.

5. Fold to Your Desired Size

Now that you have a small rectangle with an L-shaped collection of tucked corners on top, fold the sheet in half, thirds or quarters depending on your desired size and storage space.
