Every year, adored mobile food trucks and food carts compete in The Vendy Awards. Now in its 11th year, the Annual Vendy Awards is being held on September 12th on Governor’s Island. Curious attendees can finally get a look at the finalists to see who will compete head to head in the Vendy Award’s cook-off. Shanghai Mobile Kitchen Solutions has spent over 25 years creating custom kitchens and food cart designs for mobile chefs. As Brooklyn’s go-to for quality kitchenware on wheels and custom designs to cater to your mobile business, they joyously celebrate all the talented chefs who compete at the Vendy Awards.

While there are five categories and 25 incredible finalists competing, the big award (a.k.a. The Vendy Cup or People’s Choice Award) is arguably the grand prize of the festivities. This year, the five competing finalists all bring incredibly different styles, stories, and offerings to the table.

There’s Biryani House, the first Bangladeshi cart in Lower Manhattan; and then comes Hard Times Sundaes known for the best burgers in NYC. The third finalist, Guandong Cheong Fun, has become a legend in South Brooklyn’s Chinatown for whipping up the tastiest Cantonese steamed rice noodles. Fourth is the Souvlaki Lady who has served traditional Greek food in Astoria, Queens for over 25 years. Last, but certainly not least, there’s the Snowday Food Truck, designed by Shanghai Mobile Kitchen Solutions. Snowday Food Truck won the Rookie of the Year award at last year’s Vendy Awards, but this time they’re back to take the cake as the city’s very first farm-to-food-truck.

At the end of the day, everyone is a winner, especially attendees who get to dive into all the finest street treats the city has to offer. If you’re looking to start your own food truck, call Shanghai Mobile Kitchen Solutions today at (800) 253-4815, or visit their website for more information. Who knows, this time next year you could be competing at The Vendy’s!
