Spiders are never a welcome sight in any home. People across America can agree that spiders, or any other pests, should remain far away from the spaces where we live. While spiders serve an essential purpose in nature, they should never be in your home. If you begin to notice them in your home, there may be a problem, and it’s probably time to call an exterminator

Why Spiders Shouldn’t Be in Your Home

Spiders eat other bugs; why do I not want them in my home?

A spider’s diet consists of pesky insects like mosquitos, roaches, flies, and moths. If you see spiders in your home, it likely means these other pests are, too. Spiders feed off of these other pests, so to get rid of spiders you have to get rid of any other insects living in your home. Store brand pest killers can be useful, but if the pest problem isn’t getting any better call an exterminator.

Not all spiders are poisonous; do I need to worry about bites?

In the United States, the black widow and the brown recluse are the only poisonous spiders that pose a threat to you. Black widows can be identified by the red hourglass shape on their back, and brown recluses typically have patches on black on brown skin. If either of these spiders bites you, seek medical attention immediately, and schedule an exterminator to perform spider control and removal as soon as possible. While these spiders are the most dangerous, they aren’t the only ones that bite. Spider bites can cause swelling and irritation, and they can turn into a medical emergency if untreated. Whether the spider is dangerous doesn’t matter; spider bites can cause irritation and serious medical issues.

Spider webs do not bother me; why should this concern me?

Spider webs are tough to clean up, and spiders will often continue to spin webs in the same places if they remain in your home. Cleaning up spider webs can become a very annoying task and leave your home looking older, warn, and messy. Spiderwebs also can leave nearly permanent marks on paint and furniture, leading to the need for costly repairs and replacements. It is best to consider spider control before the spiders, and their webs, severely damage your home and property.
