It’s not news that dealing with the IRS creates stress. However, measuring that stress level is now a consideration based upon retiring veteran taxpayer advocate Nina Olson’s suggestion that the IRS develop a “Taxpayer Anxiety Index.” With only 25% of the taxpayers who called the agency with questions last tax season reaching an actual person,  she urged them to make it easier to connect with IRS employees. A recent article in Accounting Today explains Olson’s concerns.
