Window tinting has become an increasingly popular option among homeowners. It can add a layer of privacy for your home and help you maintain a lower indoor temperature. But to ensure your tinted windows stand the test of time, it’s essential to keep the following maintenance tips in mind.

3 Window Tinting Maintenance Tips

1. Use the Right Cleaning Products & Toolswindow tinting

When cleaning your windows, always ensure you have the appropriate products and tools to prevent damage. Avoid any brushes with bristles; opt for a rubber squeegee or a soft sponge. Make a mixture of dishwashing soap and water and stay away from harsh chemicals that have ammonia or alcohol.

2. Follow the Right Direction

The splice refers to the edges of the tint film. If you clean against the splice, this can harm the adhesive and eventually cause the film to lift off of the window. Be gentle with the pressure placed when cleaning the window and follow the directions of the splice.

3. Remove Excess Water

When you’re finished cleaning the window, don’t forget to remove any excess water. Otherwise, it can penetrate the film and destroy the adhesive. When it’s time to move on to the next window, use a different cloth rather than taking the same wet rag as this can transfer dust and debris.
