A submersible pump is self-primed! A jet pump requires priming and this could take up to several attempts! In order to prime a jet pump, you have to get water into it without any air!  A jet pump could also stop working because it has lost its prime. A common culprit for the loss of prime is the valves associated with the jet pump.  Another frequent issue is a leak on the suction side of the jet pump or obstruction in the nozzle.  Once a submersible pump is installed, it immediately gets to work and starts pushing water to the surface!

Submersible pumps also save you energy!  A submersible pump does not fight gravity like a jet pump does, which could cause another frequent problem, overheating. Submersible pumps build pressure faster than jet pumps, therefore, saving you your hard earned money!

A submersible pump is maintenance free and has a sealed motor and pump.  Jet pumps are not sealed and often suffer from corrosion inside the pump caused by the flow of water, which often wears out the impeller.  Call us today to talk to us about your jet pump and see what we can do for you, (845) 629-8301!
