We had some chinchilla excitement recently at our animal hospital! One of our clients brought her chinchilla in for an x-ray exam. The chinchilla was thought to be a male with a mass in his abdomen. When the owner was checking in, she suddenly said,”I think there is a baby in there!” Sure enough, it was a BABY! It was in the carrier. Dr. Krumanaker then felt around, and another baby was still in her stomach (they tend to have twins). She delivered the second baby about an hour later.
