Though films and TV shows have brought us countless famous actors and directors, there is no denying that the media has also introduced a fair number of iconic vehicles. Playing a vital role in the story, these noteworthy vehicles have quickly become sought-after collector cars. Here’s a closer look at some of the most memorable vehicles to be featured in television shows and movies.

Popular Collector Cars From Film & Television

1. The Aston Martin® in the James Bond Series

collector carsJames Bond is no stranger to fancy cars, but few have made quite the impression as the Aston Martin DB5 that first appeared in “Goldfinger.” Two DB5s were used for the film and were actually featured at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. The DB5’s popularity resulted in the vehicle appearing in several subsequent James Bond movies, including 2015’s “Spectre.” Needless to say, the extra spy gadgets and weaponry were not part of the vehicle’s standard production run.

2. KITT in “Knight Rider”

Knight Industries Two Thousand (KITT) is a souped-up 1982 Pontiac® Firebird Trans Am, made famous by the TV show “Knight Rider.” The electronic computer module gave KITT advanced robotic capabilities that aided in crime-fighting efforts and allowed it to be driven through water—only in the show, of course.

3. The 1948 Ford® Deluxe in “Grease”

Though the film “Grease” is set in 1959 and was released in theaters in 1978, there is no denying that the 1948 Ford Deluxe made quite an impression with both the film’s characters and audiences. After all, there aren’t many cars that have an entire song dedicated to them on film, referring to “Greased Lightning.”
