Most bathrooms only have so much space, especially if you’re sharing it with multiple people. They can feel small when there’s nowhere to put  accessories and grooming products. From adding cabinets to stacking shelves, there are decluttering strategies that will organize your bathroom, make your daily routine much easier, and give you some extra space to move around.

5 Decluttering Tips for Your Bathroom

1. Put Drawers Underneath Your Sink

Sometimes the simplest solution is the best. A customized drawer that fits around the sink’s pipe will add an aesthetically pleasing element to your bathroom while decluttering it of accessories large and small. Label the drawers to keep them organized and avoid creating a new mess.

2. Add Floor-to-Ceiling ShelvingDecluttering

A floor-to-ceiling shelf can be an all-in-one decluttering solution. Organize different sections of the shelf to meet your needs. Put a basket in the bottom shelf for trash. On the next level, use another basket for old clothes, instead of a hamper. Above, you can store your hygiene products, towels, and jars for Q-tips and cotton swabs.

3. Store Outside the Bathroom

Some bathrooms are too small for extra drawers or shelves. In that case, you should consider decluttering your bathroom by moving out everything you don’t immediately need. Place an armoire, standing closet, or cabinet outside the bathroom to store extra towels, washcloths, and diapers.

4. Apply Magnetic Strips

Magnetic strips make decluttering and organizing your smaller items simple. These strips are easy to install—just cut it to your desired length, stick it inside your medicine cabinet or behind a mirror, and remove the cover tape. Once they're in place, the strips are ideal for holding nail clippers, bobby pins, tweezers, and manicure scissors. Magnetic caddies are also available for holding non-magnetic items, like toothbrushes and compacts.

5. Install a Blanket Ladder

Usually used in living rooms or bedrooms, these ladders are perfect for small bathrooms. They don’t protrude far from the wall but are sturdy enough to safely hang baskets for your hair dryer, brushes, or extra toilet paper.
