When is the best time to water?

The best time for watering is in the early morning hours. Watering during the day wastes water due to excessive evaporation and can scald the lawn when the temperatures are too high. Watering in the late afternoon or late morning may be detrimental if it extends the time the lawn is naturally wet from dew. This extended wet period can accelerate disease occurrence.

What should I look for when inspecting my sprinkler system?

Make sure that all the heads rise perpendicular to the ground and rotate properly. Clear all obstructions to the path of the water. Look closely and make sure that the heads do not leak. Keep nozzles and filters clean so as to insure a full even of water.
