Workouts For Each Body Type Maximizes Results at Exude Fitness, Manhattan, New York

Everyone wants to make the most of their workout. Whether you’re an athlete training for a triathlon or just starting out on your path to better health, there’s a reason you hit the gym regularly or visit a personal trainer. But if you’re not hitting your aesthetic goals as quickly as you’d like, it might be because you’re not working out properly for your individual body type. Exude Fitness, which serves Midtown East and the Upper East Side in Manhattan, offers the world’s only patented workout for body type and focuses on your individual goals.

Exude Fitness offers each client a one-on-one trainer who helps them determine their body type and potential problem areas. Generally, people fall into one of four categories, which each come with different exercise recommendations:

  • Hourglass®: This type includes bodies that carry weight in both the upper and lower body, with a slender waist. In order to meet a goal of a trim upper body and lower body, Exude Fitness recommends exercises like jumping rope or riding a stationary bike with light to moderate resistance.
  • Spoon®: People with the Spoon® type carry most of their weight in their hips, thighs and buttocks and have a slender top. To trim the lower body and build strength up top, Exude Fitness recommends exercises like jumping rope with a speed rope and bringing the standing knee to opposite side of the chest.
  • Ruler®: This category includes bodies that are built straight up and down with very few curves. To trim the stomach and develop curves, Exude Fitness encourages those with the Ruler® body type to try yoga, Pilates on machines, step classes and jogging with incline.
  • Cone®: Those who carry most of their weight in the back, chest, arms and stomach fall into the Cone® category. Lower body exercises, walking on an incline and upper body exercises with light weight and high reps helps this body type trim the upper body, strengthen the lower body and make the body more symmetrical.
