Do you ever reach for potato chips when you intended to go for celery sticks? Sure, we’ve all been there. Instead of feeling guilty or wanting to give up, remember: Nobody’s perfect. Not with their job, their marriage, or their diet.  Improving, not perfecting, is a realistic, sensible, and by far more effective way to reach your goal.

Think today about being realistic (not perfect) by eating smarter and moving more, without holding on to the guilt of not following a plan perfectly.

Get rid of food rules – Instead have guidelines to help you make the right choices and do what’s right for your health.

Cut yourself some slack – If you make a food choice you didn’t intend to make, let it go. Then start with a healthy option at your next meal. What counts is what you consume for your nutrition for several days and not just one meal.

Pat yourself on the back - Giving yourself credit for making good choices helps to keep you motivated towards the end goal of better health.  Think of two things you did today that bettered your health by your food and activity choices.
