After your loved one’s passing, one way to keep your thoughts positive is to build a scrapbook about your loved one’s life or your relationship with them. Not only does this project give you a goal to focus on; it’ll let you you surround yourself with heartwarming thoughts, images, and words all about your loved one. 

3. Light a Candle

One way to managing the balance between your regular life and the time you spend thinking about your loved one is to institute a daily or weekly ritual of lighting a special candle in honor of your lost loved one. You’ll create a constant memorial to their memory, and you’ll also give yourself a clear time each day or week when you can reflect on your loved one. 

4. Plant a Tree

After you experience loss, it can be useful to focus on growth. Just as your loved one’s memory lives on within you, a tree planted in their memory can serve as a reminder of the magic this person brought to your life.
