To help New York City kids excel, FasTracKids – Williamsburg, Brooklyn will offer a summer program to prepare them to take the New York City gifted and talented test. Although the exam is given in January, below are reasons your child should start preparing this summer. 

How Kids Benefit from Gifted & Talented Summer Tutoring

FasTracKids’ gifted and talented prep summer program is tailored to three- and four-year-old kids who will enter pre-k in the fall. The daily one-hour sessions will be incorporated into the center’s STEM-based summer camp curriculum at no additional charge. During classes, youngsters will participate in hands-on activities to build reasoning and listening skills. This will prepare them to put objects in sequential order, complete patterns, and perform other tasks for the test’s nonverbal & verbal assessment portions. 

Each week of the summer program will introduce campers to different careers in science, technology, engineering, art, and math. They will participate in activities related to the different fields, which will allow them to think creatively and cultivate their analytical and problem-solving skills. This will come in handy during the verbal assessment portion of the exam, where they must listen to instructions and perform tasks that test their knowledge and demonstrate their comprehension skills.     

Why Summer Test Prep Aids Fall Learning

Enrollment in gifted and talented test preparation this summer will get your youngster ready to enter FasTracKids’ more intense test prep courses offered in the fall. Taking the autumn classes will reinforce what’s learned during the summer session. The additional preparation increases the odds your child will score high on the exam and qualify for placement in one of New York City’s top schools.

To make educational opportunities more affordable for families, each child who enrolls in at least one week of summer camp will receive a 10 percent discount towards tuition for the fall test prep program.
