For most taxpayers today is the deadline for filing their returns. As of Friday, the IRS reported that 50 million returns were still outstanding, and issued a Tax Advisory about deadline extensions. Automatic extensions are provided to disaster victims, those serving in a combat zone, and Americans living abroad, even if they don’t ask for them.
