This May, the team at Waimea Valley is hosting several fun family activities for all to enjoy. If you’re looking for something new and exciting to do, visit this world-class botanical garden in Haleiwa, HI, to experience quality time and tasty food with the family. Here’s a sampling of events to celebrate the start of summer.

3 Family Activities to Do This Summer

1. Moon Walk & Dinner

On May 11, Ke Nui Kitchen will offer a dinner at 6 p.m. and include local ingredient dishes. Celebrate the Native Hawaiian’s affinity for the mahina, or moon, and how its illumination guided crop planting and traditional practices. When you purchase this special dinner guests will receive $5 off the Moon Walk’s $10 admission.

Mother Day’s Brunch

family activitiesCelebrate the woman who raised you by taking them to the Mother’s Day Brunch on May 12 at the Pikake Pavilion. The menu will feature waffles, an egg and ceviche bar, salad, several delicious entrees, and an assortment of muffins and bagels. Guests can enjoy their meal while they listen to live music and watch a hula show. Hosted by Ke Nui Kitchen, the brunch buffet is $52.95 for adults and $26.50 for kids ages 4 to 12. The cost includes free admission into Waimea Valley.

Screen on the Green

Pack up the little ones and head to the Main Lawn to view exciting animated movies, such as The Incredibles and Trolls, classics, like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and even the recently-released Aqua Man. The Screen on the Green series kicks off June 6 with other showings on June 13, 20 and 27, and on July 11, 18 and 25. Admission to this family activity is free.

 

Waimea Valley’s summer schedule is packed with a diverse range of family activities, including musical concerts, farmers markets, and May Day festivities.
