Technical Skills Instructor

This program combines hands-on industry training, skills and technical science courses with selected general education courses. Over the course of four terms, students will study from four focus areas: Architecture and Construction; Manufacturing; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; and Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics. Upon completion, students will be awarded an Associate of Occupational Studies degree.

Healthcare Services

With a certificate in Healthcare Services, SCC students will enrich their medical and technical skills to become a qualified entry-level health care worker. You’ll have the potential to work in a variety of medical facilities, from hospitals to physician’s offices. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, health care support occupations are projected to be among the fastest growing jobs through 2024.

Surgical First Assist

community collegeThe surgical first assistant position is vital to carrying out safe and efficient operations. A certificate from SCC will earn you a place in the operating room, where you will provide surgeons with assistance through a variety of technical functions. There are many environments you could work in, including hospitals, surgery centers, doctors’ offices, and specialty centers. Employment in this occupation is projected to grow 12% through 2026. SCC offers online classes for this program with a face-to-face lab course in Lincoln.

Plumbing Technology

Plumbing is one of the highest-paying construction jobs available, with a projected 21% increase in jobs by 2022, making it also one of the most stable career paths. By spending two terms in the plumbing program at SCC, you’ll receive a diploma and one year credit toward an apprentice license, which will bring you one step closer to the future you’ve always wanted.
