Late April to early May is cherry blossom season in New York City. These gorgeous white and pink blooms make a stunning backdrop for your wedding or engagement photos. There are a few spots around New York that are perfect for capturing these lush trees. Below are five locations to use as backdrops for your engagement session or wedding photography.

Best NYC Locations with Cherry Blossoms for Engagement Sessions and Wedding Photography

1. Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Located near Park Slope, Brooklyn, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is one of the top spots for cherry blossoms trees. The BBG also hosts the Sakura Matsuri Festival in April, a festival which celebrates cherry blossom season and Japanese culture with events and live music. The garden is filled with shrubs and trees in full bloom, making it the perfect time for an engagement session or a spring wedding.

2. New York Botanical Garden

The  New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx boasts 50 acres of forest and the oldest trees in the city! Among those arbors, guests will find many cherry blossoms ranging from white to pale pink and to richer tones. Additionally, the NYBG hosts an array of shows and exhibitions that showcase the finest and most delicate blooms. The Stone Mill (formerly called the Snuff Mill) is a very popular farm chic location for weddings, it overlooks a river, and there are many beautiful cherry blooms and roses nearby. The redesigned Garden Terrace Room at the NYBG is another option which infuses a bit of modern into your wedding day.

3. Central Park

The cherry blossom trees found in Central Park create a stunning backdrop to any photograph.

The park is home to many   varieties such as the     Yoshino   Cherry and the Kwanzan Cherry,   which can be spotted as you   walk by the east and west sides.   White and pink versions can  also be found in the Arthur and  Janet Ross Conifer Arboretum.

4. Riverside Park

One of the prettiest places for your engagement and wedding photography is Riverside Park’s Cherry Walk.

The four-mile path between 100th and 125th Street along the Hudson River features trees sent by the Committee of Japanese Residents of New York.

5. Madison Square Park

For those who like a little more of the city in their backdrop, head over to Madison Square Park. Surrounding the Flatiron Building, you and your wedding photographer will be treated to some of the prettiest cherry blossom trees in Manhattan.
