A Spotlight on Animal Medical Center

The Facility’s Establishment

Years ago, Dr. John Heilmeier and his wife Babbie purchased a residential home, which they remodeled into a veterinary clinic. The goal was to create a comforting, home-like atmosphere where they could care for dogs and cats. The practice started with just Dr. Heilmeier, his wife, and two staff members. One of those staff members, Kasey Singley, began working at the clinic at just 15 years old.

A Veterinarian in the Making

Kasey worked after school and on weekends while attending Foley High School. After graduation, she went on to pursue her veterinary career and graduated from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine. Now, Dr. Singley is a partner at AMC with Dr. Heilmeier, where they work in tandem with their 12 wonderful staff members.

Adapting to Evolving Needs

As the practice grew, Dr. Heilmeier and Babbie designed and built an addition, incorporating a full-time luxury boarding facility into their clinic — Heilmeier’s Bed & Biscuit. The boarding facility was created to provide a loving, home-away-from-home experience for their clients’ pets during their travels. It features private luxury suites with custom-built pet beds and televisions to keep pets content and comfortable. The facility has private runs, kitty condos, and large, tree-shaded play yards for boarders. Doggie daycare is also available for working pet parents.
