Bring a sealable and non-crushable container to place them in while you’re not using them. Pack cotton swabs as well so you can thoroughly dry out your ear before placing them back in.

2. Use a Dehumidifier

If you’re staying at a beach destination for more than one day, consider packing a small dehumidifier. If any water does get into your aid or the air has high humidity, the dehumidifier will keep them dried out. Use it in your room at night, placing the aid next to it.

3. Take Care With Sand & Sunscreen

The oils in sunscreen can damage hearing aids. Apply any lotions before you put in your aids, making sure that it’s thoroughly rubbed in before you situate the unit. Wash your hands as well to prevent getting the oils into the vents and microphone ports. Pack a clean towel when you go to the beach and ensure your hands are free of any sand before handling your aids. Use the same waterproof container for storage during any activities, from taking a dip in the ocean to letting the kids bury you in the sand.
