Whether you’re saving your wedding day bouquet or received an arrangement as a gift from someone special, you shouldn’t let those beautiful blooms to go to waste. There is no need to throw them away as soon as the petals start to wilt. Try any of the creative ways below to extend the joy of those flower bouquets for months or years to come.

What to Do With Wilting Flower Bouquets

1. Make a Wreath

flower bouquetsDried flowers make beautiful and long-lasting wreaths or centerpieces. You won’t just save money by making your decorations yourself, but you’ll also have the pride of creating them and the emotional connection with those flowers. Simply hang the bouquet upside down until it dries out, then dismantle it and secure the flowers onto a grapevine wreath. Spray it with sealant to prevent the flowers from deteriorating.

2. Make Candles

Candles are a fun way to reuse your flowers and make excellent personal gifts. Press your flowers by placing them under a heavy book. Purchase some candle holders large enough to fit the blooms inside. Melt some smaller candles so you have a cup full of warm wax, then paint a layer of wax on the outside of the candle. Apply the pressed petals with tweezers, and then add a few more layers of wax to secure the flowers on.

3. Hang Them

The easiest way to dry out your flowers is to hang the bouquet upside down. Leave them there as a dramatic and colorful décor piece. You can hang the entire bouquet in a window to dress it up or separate the bouquet into smaller bunches and hang them from a rustic wooden beam with twine.
