Not everyone from your school thinks to go to their class reunion. As the organizer, you may have to work a little harder to get people to make an appearance. Luckily, there are many ways you inspire and encourage the members of your class to attend.

5 Tips for Increasing Your Class Reunion Attendance

1. Networking

Most people are hesitant to attend their class reunion because they’re afraid it will be awkward if they don’t know anyone. However, you can reach more potential attendees by involving as many people on as many different social networks as possible. The more people you can reach, the more likely it is that their friends from the same class will want to attend.

2. Discounted Accommodations

Many of your class friends have probably moved to different cities, which might feel like a solid excuse not to attend. By contacting hotels, rental car companies, and other establishments for discounted rates, you’ll have a higher chance of convincing any out-of-towners to attend. If possible, schedule the reunion around the holidays when attendees will likely be in town.

3. Early Bird Discount

Reward early bookers with discounted rates. The better the deal, the more people will talk about their discounted rates and convince other friends to join in early. People are more likely to jump on a deal if they know an offer is for a limited time only.

4. Personal Calls

If you haven’t received as many responses, your invitations through email and mail might be too impersonal. Calling each person and personally inviting them to the reunion makes the connection more genuine and personal. A warm conversation may also win over classmates who are undecided.

5. Fun Activities

Some people might not immediately realize how fun class reunions are. While reunions are meant for reconnecting and networking, they’re also a chance to enjoy time with old friends. Schedule some activities that will engage everyone, such as competitions or games. The activities can boost class morale and encourage new friendships.
