High school reunions provide a fun and lighthearted environment to reminisce and catch up with old teachers, colleagues, and friends. However, you might feel a bit nervous about seeing everyone after so many years. If you’ve been invited to a class reunion, here are a handful of ways to prepare and make the most of it.

4 Tips for Attending Class Reunions

1. Submit Your RSVP Quickly

As with any event invitation, send your RSVP to your class reunion as soon as possible, preferably several weeks in advance. This will help the event planners get an accurate guest number to ensure they’ll have enough space, food, seating, and party favors.

2. Review Your Yearbooks

Let’s face it—you might not remember the names of everyone you went to high school with. Take a look at your old yearbooks to match names to faces. This will also make it more fun once you see how much everyone has changed over the years. If you no longer have physical copies of your yearbooks, look for them in online archives.

3. Bring Business Cards

Include your name, phone number, email address, social media accounts, and website on them so people will know how to reach you. You may also distribute business cards informally to friends who simply want to stay in touch on a personal level.

4. Talk to a Variety of People

While there’s nothing wrong with remembering the good times and laughing at inside jokes with your old clique, make a point to reach out to people you didn’t know very well in high school. You might be fascinated by how much they’ve grown and changed, and they even may lead you to new connections and opportunities.
