The vape coil is a crucial part of your vaping device. Depending on voltage, oil type, and frequency of use, the coil can last anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months with proper cleaning and care. However, all coils eventually burn out and need to be replaced. Here’s how to tell when it’s time for a new coil and how to make the replacement correctly.

How To Tell It’s Time To Replace The Vape Coil

The first sign to look for is weak vapor production. The longer you use avape particular coil, the less vapor it will produce. You may notice this issue when you need to hit the pen multiple times to get the same satisfaction you once did with one puff. Another significant indicator is a bad taste or burnt flavor tainting your oils, caused by residue build-up on the coil getting reheated every time you use the pen. You might also hear a gurgling sound or see a leak near the base of the tank, indicating inefficient vaporization.

How To Change The Vape Coil

If it’s time to change your coil, don’t procrastinate. In addition to producing an unpleasant vape, using a burnt-out coil may damage other components of your device. Most tanks have a central stem which takes air and passes it over the coil to deliver vapor to your mouth. The stem typically has an atomizer head attached at the top or bottom. To replace the coil on this type of device, unscrew the glass tank from the battery and empty it. Then, unscrew the coil and screw in the new one. Finally, refill the tank and screw it back to the battery.
