iPad® tablets can do it all, from providing a handheld workspace to giving you a portable entertainment and communications device. While Apple® devices are famous for their battery longevity, among other features, certain factors can decrease the battery’s life span. Here are a few tips to improve your new or used iPad tablet’s power.

3 Ways to Extend Your Used iPad Tablet’s Battery Life

1. Change Display Settings

The easiest way to enhance battery life on your used iPad tablet is to adjust the display settings. Specifically, change the screen brightness by going to “Settings,” “Display & Brightness,” and then adjusting the slider. You can also save battery life by changing the display to black and white by going to “Settings,” “General,” “Accessibility,” and “Grayscale.”

2. Update Software

used iPadIf it’s been a while since you’ve updated the operating system, your device is probably working harder to keep up with modern apps and software, resulting in reduced efficiency and battery life. Installing the latest OS can help. Go to “Settings,” “General,” and “Software Update.” If there is one available, connect your used iPad to a charger to update the software.

3. Close Apps When Not in Use

Apple devices contain many high-tech features and apps, some of which require a significant amount of power to operate. These include location-tracking and GPS services, AirDrop® transfers, and Bluetooth® compatibility. Some of these features continue operating in the background if you forget to close them after use. Closing out of apps when you’re done, just like shutting off the lights when you leave a room, is a good energy-saving habit to get into.
