Whether you are hosting a corporate function or get-together with friends, the festivities should include fun activities to keep guests energized. When deciding on entertainment, call a casino party rental company for help. They will provide equipment and recommend games to make the event more enjoyable. When deciding on games to play, below are a few popular poker variations to consider.

3 Poker Games to Try at Casino Night

1. Texas Hold’Em

Invented by gamblers in Robstown, Texas in the early 20th century, Texas hold’em gained widespread recognition when introduced to the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in the 1970s. In this poker variation, each player receives two face-down hole cards. The face-up community cards on the table, shared by players, is referred to as hold’em. Five shared cards are dealt in three phases. Three “flop” cards are dealt, followed by a single “turn” card, and the last, “fifth street” card. Players place bets, with the objective to get the best hand out of the five cards dealt to win the pot.

2. Omaha Hold’Em

The game was first called Nugget Hold’em, named after the establishment. Unlike with Texas hold’em, a player is dealt four hole cards instead of two. They must try to get the best hand using two of the cards as well as three of five community cards.

3. Five- & Seven-Card Stud

The origins of stud poker date back to the 1860s in America. Unlike other popular card games where players hide cards from each other, most of the cards are displayed face-up on the table. The hole card is the only one that remains hidden until a player shows their hand. The earliest version, still popular today, is played with five cards. The first card is dealt face-down and the other four are dealt face-up. Seven-card stud gained popularity in the late 20th century. Players must use five out of the seven cards dealt to have the best hand.
