Mirrors have both a functional and aesthetic purpose, making them an excellent addition to any bedroom. They can give the illusion of more space, and they can increase natural lighting, especially when placed near windows. Here are several tips for adding mirrors to a bedroom.

How to Use Mirrors to Decorate a Bedroom

1. Natural Light Reflection

Place a mirror opposite a window to reflect the sunshine and give your bedroom a brighter feel. Also, stand a large floor mirror next to a window to catch the light filtering in and send it throughout the room.

2. Multiple Mirrors

Place large and small mirrors around the room to create depth. This is particularly effective in smaller rooms, which can benefit from the illusion of more space. Add a larger mirror to one side of the room to create a wider look and set smaller mirrors opposite it to make the room feel even larger.

3. Creativity

windowsWhile placing a mirror over a dresser or vanity is common, installing one over your nightstand or in place of a headboard can create a unique look. You can also treat mirrors like art and hang framed ones on walls or between your wall decor.

4. Ceiling Reflection

On opposite ends of the room, place two large floor mirrors at angles, so they are reflecting the ceiling. This makes the room appear to have higher ceilings. For extra illumination and a luxurious touch, install a beautiful chandelier and point a mirror toward it.

5. Furniture

Install mirrors on a closet door to create a functional place to get dressed and to make the room feel larger. When adding mirrored furniture, however, stick to one of two pieces to avoid an overwhelming look.
